Dr Michael May is Wimpole’s Medical Director and Principal Surgeon. He specializes in FUE, FUT, and complex hair restoration procedures, and with more than 10,000 surgeries performed, he’s one of the most accomplished and experienced hair transplant surgeons in the world.
Dr May’s hair transplantation career began in 1982, after qualifying as a surgeon at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London. He then trained and registered as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in the UK, qualifying him to perform surgery. After deciding to dedicate his practice to hair transplantation, Dr May helped pioneer the FUT technique — still one of the most used methods worldwide.
Since then, Dr May has become world renowned as a leader in the field of hair transplantation. He was a founding member of the British Association of Hair Restoration Surgery, and has served as the president of the association. He is also a member of the following organizations:
