Midtown East
880 3rd Avenue is at East 53rd Street in Midtown East. Drivers can approach via major Manhattan routes including the FDR Drive, then continue on local streets to Third Avenue. Traffic can be heavy, particularly during weekday peak hours, so allow extra time and check live traffic conditions before travelling.
Lexington Avenue–53rd Street
The Lexington Avenue–53rd Street station for the E and M trains is less than a block from 880 3rd Avenue. The 6 train at 51st Street is also nearby, around a three-minute walk. Lexington Avenue–59th Street provides additional 4, 5, 6, N, R and W services.
Third Avenue stops
Several MTA bus routes stop close to the clinic. The M101, M102 and M103 serve Third Avenue, with a stop at 3rd Avenue and East 53rd Street just steps from the building. Additional local and express services operate nearby. Check the MTA before travelling for current schedules.
Three major airports
LaGuardia Airport is the closest major airport to Midtown East. JFK International and Newark Liberty International also serve New York City. Journey times vary considerably with traffic and time of day, so allow extra time. Taxi, rideshare and public transport connections are available from all three airports.
Nearby garages
On-street parking in Midtown East is limited, so a nearby garage is usually the easiest option. Parking is available at 211 East 53rd Street, 229 East 55th Street and 909 Third Avenue, all within a short walk of the clinic. Check current rates and opening hours before travelling.
Congestion Relief Zone
880 3rd Avenue is inside Manhattan’s Congestion Relief Zone, which covers local streets and avenues south of and including 60th Street. Vehicles entering the zone may be charged a toll, with rates varying by time and payment method. Check current MTA toll information before driving.
Third Avenue
Patients can be dropped off close to 880 3rd Avenue on Third Avenue or a nearby permitted passenger-loading area, subject to local traffic and stopping restrictions. If attending for a procedure, follow the clinic’s travel-home guidance and arrange a driver, taxi or rideshare where advised.

Our Albany clinic is at 10 Century Hill Drive in Latham, reached from Route 9. From I-87, take Exit 7 and follow signs towards Route 9, Latham, then continue north to Century Hill Drive. Use the full address in your navigation app and check live traffic before travelling.
Albany–Rensselaer station
Albany–Rensselaer station, at 525 East Street in Rensselaer, provides Amtrak connections to New York City and other regional destinations. From the station, arrange a taxi or rideshare to 10 Century Hill Drive in Latham. Check current train schedules and allow additional time for the onward road journey.
CDTA services
CDTA Route 182 connects Albany and Troy via Cohoes and Latham, with services calling at Latham Farms. Use the CDTA journey planner to check the best connection for your starting point and appointment time. You may need an onward taxi or rideshare to reach 10 Century Hill Drive.
Albany International Airport
Albany International Airport is the local airport for patients flying into the Capital Region. Taxis, Uber, Lyft and rental cars are available for the onward journey to our Latham clinic. Enter 10 Century Hill Drive as your destination and check current traffic conditions before leaving the airport.

Where exactly is the clinic?

Do I need to be in New York to be treated here?
No, Wimpole New York accepts patients from all around the world. We can schedule a consultation by video if that’s most convenient for you, then schedule your surgery at our New York clinic, or one of our other worldwide surgical locations.
Traveling patients can take advantage of our travel coordination service and preferential hotel rates.
Is the consultation free?
Yes; we don’t charge for consultation. Your Wimpole New York consultation includes a free hair loss assessment, donor density check, and treatment plan advice. We’ll give you a written quote for details of further services we can provide.
Can I have my consultation by video instead?

How long will I be at the clinic on the day?
On surgery day, patients should expect to be at the clinic all day, usually 8-9 hours. This includes pre-operative preparation and post-operative monitoring.
Where should I stay the night before and after?
Many hotels in New York are conveniently located for our clinic. For extra convenience, our travel coordinators can get the best rates for Wimpole patients at a range of local hotels. So it’s often cheaper booking via the Wimpole team.
What happens after I fly home?
You’ll be given a written aftercare protocol and an aftercare pack, which you should follow for the first 2 weeks (or longer if advised by your surgeon).
Reviews follow at three, six and twelve months. Video reviews are available for patients who aren’t local, with photographs compared against your baseline.
